August Fashion Shoot with Andrea
Our First, Second Shoot
Sometimes, photography journeys take unexpected turns—and this shoot with Andrea was one of those moments. You could say this was our first, second shoot. Confusing? Let me explain.
How It Started
The very first time I worked with Andrea, it technically wasn’t even my shoot. I had been invited by another photographer to assist on his project. The location was stunning, and while my role was more behind the scenes, I couldn’t resist sneaking in a few frames with Andrea.
It wasn’t a full session, just a taste of what could be. Still, it left me wanting more—more time, more creative space, and more collaboration with her.
“Andrea’s first looks with me—bold poses in a stunning location, capturing her natural confidence.”
Back in the Studio
Fast forward two months, and Andrea walked into my studio, this time ready for our fashion shoot. She came prepared with five incredible looks that screamed creativity and versatility. Meanwhile, I’ll admit, I was running behind on setup.
As a rule, I never like to keep models working longer than three hours—after that, the energy starts to fade, and the magic isn’t the same.
“Studio elegance—Andrea transformed each outfit into a story, bringing life to the space.”
Choosing Quality Over Quantity
So, instead of rushing through all five outfits, we focused on three looks that truly mattered. And honestly? They were more than enough. Each one brought out a different side of Andrea’s style, and together they told the story of our first real collaboration.
“Three looks, endless creativity—proof that sometimes less really is more.”
Capturing Film Moments
Along with the digital work, I also pulled out my Nikon F100 camera with Fujifilm 35mm film. There’s always something timeless about film photography—the grain, the tones, the imperfections that make it perfect.
After the shoot, I had my rolls developed at PJ Camera in Glen Ellyn, IL, one of my go-to spots for reliable film processing.
“Film always tells a different story—shot on Fujifilm 35mm and developed at PJ Camera in Glen Ellyn, IL.”
Looking Ahead
In the end, it wasn’t just another fashion shoot—it was the beginning of a creative partnership built on trust, patience, and a shared vision. Sometimes, less really is more.
