Halloween 2025 – Zombie Apocalypse Creative Shoot with Giselle

Zombie Apocalypse project

Social media changed the game for photographers. It’s not just about posting standout images anymore — platforms shift fast, and photos aren't always the priority. So as I began planning this Halloween project, I found myself thinking: How would I promote this shoot today? Which platforms still value real creativity?

It’s been about two years since my last big Halloween shoot, and honestly, I didn’t plan to do one this year. But when inspiration calls, you answer it.

The Hidden Gem — Giselle

Let’s talk about my hidden gem: Giselle. She doesn’t call herself a model, but trust me — she’s a natural. I’ve worked with her mom, Karla, for over 10 years on hair and makeup for some of my most iconic shoots. So technically, Giselle grew up around creative energy, lights, makeup, cameras — the whole industry vibe. Watching her evolve into a talented young lady has been amazing.

The Spark

Back in August, a fellow photographer asked me if I had plans for another Halloween project. My initial answer was no — then the creative gears started to turn. So I called my guy Rex, because if there’s a Halloween project, he's in it. No hesitation.

Next question: What’s the theme this time?
Without missing a beat, he said: Zombie Apocalyptic.

If you know Rex, then you already know he’s the king of zombie details. You should see his front lawn every October — it’s like a Hollywood set.

The Team Comes Together

I also called my longtime friend and videographer Pete — we’ve known each other for over 25 years. Even though he’s retired, he didn’t hesitate to help capture video for this project. That’s love, and that’s brotherhood in the creative world.

This Halloween shoot came together with one of the best teams I’ve had yet.
