Throwback with Jennifer Kartheiser: A Journey Through Time
Have you ever found yourself sifting through old photoshoots, reminiscing about the moments captured and the moments that shaped your craft? It's something I find myself doing often, and it never ceases to amaze me how much my editing process has evolved over the years. What once took days to perfect can now be achieved in mere minutes, thanks to advancements in technology.
Recently, Facebook reminded me of a significant memory from my past—a photo of the talented Jennifer Kartheiser, taken back in 2013. This shoot was particularly special as it was a collaboration with the incredible Karla Mendez. Looking back, I realize how many unforgettable projects Karla and I have worked on together, each one leaving its unique mark on my creative journey.
With the nostalgia flowing, I felt compelled to dive deeper into that particular shoot, rediscovering the images from my archives. 2013 was a different time for photography; the tools we had at our disposal, like Lightroom and Photoshop, weren't nearly as advanced as they are today. This made me curious—how would I approach editing this shoot with today's technology?
Armed with my current editing software and a fresh perspective, I set to work on the photos from that day. Captured with my Canon 5D Mark II and a Tamron 28-75mm lens, these images held a special place in my heart. Seeing them through the lens of my current skills and tools opened up a whole new realm of possibilities.
The process was both enlightening and rewarding. I was amazed at how I could breathe new life into the original images, enhancing their colors, sharpness, and overall aesthetic. With the help of Lightroom, Photoshop, and Evoto, I was able to transform those once-unpolished shots into vibrant memories that reflect my growth as a photographer.
I invite you to take a moment to reflect on your own past projects. What memories would you revisit, and how would your current skills change the way you view them? As for me, this throwback with Jennifer Kartheiser not only reignited my passion for photography but also reminded me of the beautiful connections I've fostered along the way. Here’s to old shoots, new edits, and the journey that lies ahead!
